Agree with the weirdness thing. I often get consultancy requests where clients contact OFL licensed rightsholders asking for an invoice to get permission to do what the OFL already permits.2 -

Sounds to me like you would be best off contacting the owners of the fonts you are interested in, and commissioning them draw an original single stroke font that is similar (but not derivative from) …2
